Mountain Freshies works with select farms in and around the North Fork Valley to obtain only the highest quality, freshest picked, handled-with-care produce that is shelf-friendly and ready to serve or sell. In addition to our Naturally Grown artisan produce, we also offer local specialty items such as Austin Family Honey, quinoa, breads, cheeses, mushrooms, sauces, jams and juices. Our products are listed by provider, so customers are able to pick and choose what they want to purchase from each producer and farm. Please Meet the Farmers to learn more about their growing and sourcing practices.
Vetting
You must be a qualified reseller, such as a restaurant, market or buying group, to purchase from our Wholesale Shop. If you are a reseller and are new to Mountain Freshies, please email us at [email protected] to confirm we can support your location on our route. You may also be asked to provide proof of your status as a reseller. Once your Wholesale Account request is approved, we will create the account for you and email you a link for access.
If you are an individual who wants to purchase Retail for Personal Use Only, there is no need to contact us in advance. Please Sign Up to choose a drop location and register. Access to our retail storefront is already included for Farm-to-Family members. Please note there are a few locations which accept our Farm-to-Family (CSA) deliveries, but do not participate as Retail drops. These locations are noted under their description information.
Delivery Schedule
Your account will be assigned a delivery day. Our schedule changes seasonally. We run weekly from July through most of November and then intermittently from December through June. Deliveries are on Wednesdays or Thursdays depending on the time of year and your location. For Wholesale Accounts we may need an after-hours option and contact, as we sometimes deliver in the early morning hours and into the evenings.
Customers are notified via email when our shop opens. Store hours are typically Thursdays from 5 pm through Sundays at 2 pm (for delivery the following Wednesday or Thursday). It is important that all orders are placed before our shop closes, so we can meet our deadlines with the farms. Our minimum order criteria per location fluctuates depending on the season as well as supply and demand. The ordering system or a team member will notify you, if a minimum is not met.
While some items are offered individually or in smaller amounts, our storefront is predominantly for customers who want to purchase produce in bulk, by the pound. Please order in the amounts as they are featured on our site, as we are not able to fulfill special requests. When asked to estimate the number of items per pound we will do our best to provide accurate information, but Naturally Grown produce is not always consistent and sizing can vary a lot throughout the season.
We sell fresh picked produce, so placing an order does not guarantee that we will be able to fulfill your order. There are many factors such as rain, temperature, farmers over estimating crop yields etc. that are out of our control and may affect what is actually available on the day we pack. It does not happen very often and we will make best efforts to communicate with you as soon as possible, if we are not able to deliver an order.
Orders are usually fulfilled on a first-come, first-serve basis. If an item is marked as limited and we don’t have enough to fulfill all orders, we will sometimes make adjustments so no single customer receives a disproportionate amount and/or customers will be waitlisted for the following week.
Frozen items are delivered cold and may not be frozen. Retail Orders are not refrigerated or kept frozen upon delivery. Please note that produce quality and frozen items will decline quickly, if not refrigerated as soon as possible after delivery.
Payments
For Wholesale Accounts we accept credit cards, echecks and good-ole-fashioned hand-written checks.
For Retail Accounts we accept credit cards or echecks.
Payment by credit card or echeck requires us to keep your information on file, so we can batch run payments at the end of the week after all orders have been delivered.
